Sara’s Essentials

My Essentials is a series that highlights those items you just can't live without. Editor's note: we've banned the answer "my phone", because we're optimists.

Moleskin Notebook
Over the past 10 years, I have only used one particular type of Moleskin notebook and I have a methodical way of organizing my day through lists, notes, and reminders. The day isn’t done until the page is completed, regardless of the hour. I have literally stacks of them in my storage, with all the madness, adventures and lists of the past decade.

I know everyone says it, but coffee is such a huge part of my day. Especially on days when we’re creating new products because we need to smell lots of samples, and smelling coffee is a great way to clear your scent palette. I’ve loved coffee since my dad got me and my brother into good espresso when we were teenagers. To this day, my coffee preferences are: 1. Cafe Fantastico (which is what I grew up drinking) 2. City of Saints (a great roaster out of NYC) 3. Canyon Coffee (my latest find and love).

Coconut Oil and Geranium Essential Oil
I use it for everything: washing my face, steaming my face and for oil pulling (swishing coconut oil in my mouth).

I’ve developed a pretty regimented supplement routine over the past 4 years since starting vitruvi. The days can be very long and incredibly stressful, so I’ve learned to nourish my mind and body and make time for myself whenever I can. Eating a plant-based diet and having a cohesive supplement routine is part of that. Here’s what I take: Vega Chlorella, Probiotics (these are a game changer for travel), Iron, Vitamin C, Selenium, Zinc, Vitamin D, Omegas, Calcium, Rhodiola, Bacopa, and Oil of Oregano if I’m travelling or getting sick. I also love Care/of‘s vitamin packs!

Blundstone Boots
Chisel toe in black—they’re my favourite and I wear them almost every day, regardless of where I am in the world.

A Good Book
I’m always reading a book; usually a business one, a spiritual one and something on lifestyle, like a stoic book on life or a biography.
